Project «For Equal Rights and Possibilities» within the coalition project of the competition «Participation of women in the public and political life»,

As known, women have been less presented than men in any institutes of authority for some years in Ukraine, both on the local and state levels. It’s not enough to influence the existent situation and to lobby the interests of women at these levels.
As the result of the monitoring, conducted by “YXXIC”, it turned out that even in those spheres of activity where were mainly women engaged the leading positions were almost for hundred percents occupied by men.
This tendency is observed in the public administrative sphere. At the local level in Chernihiv city council the representatives of women make one third.
This project became the challenge to the public concerning the problem of discrimination of women in social and political processes.
Mobilization of the public potential of women is the purpose of the project to increase the participation of women in the work of the bodies of local self-government in the process of professional level increase of knowledge, improving application skills.
The participants of the project are: representatives of political parties, representatives of public organizations; women chosen to the local and district councils of Chernihiv region; women - journalists of the local councils of mass information; women – state officials of local and regional level, etc.
Within the framework of the project the number of the actions directed on the training of the women - leaders concerning their participation in the electoral processes were conducted. The team «YXXIC» designed the brochure “Guidance of the election campaign.
Local reforms and the methods of their realization” and the booklet “Rights of women and practical ways of their realizations” which will help every active woman in achievement of the aims in the public and political sphere.
This project is now in the process of work, realization.
